Cikauskas Named to D3football.com Team of the Week
By Nathan Baliva Monmouth College senior defensive end Anthony Cikauskas (Oswego, Illinois) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday, a day after being named the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week. Cikauskas racked up four and a half tackles for loss, two sacks, seven total tackles, two QB hurries and one pass breakup on Saturday in a 29-0 shutout of Chicago. Sandburg volleyball opens Region 4 tourney Wednesday at Kankakee
The Sandburg volleyball team will open the postseason Wednesday evening on the road. The Chargers earned the No. 6 seed in the Region 4 Division II District B tournament and will face third-seeded Kankakee in a quarterfinal match at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The semifinal and championship rounds will take place this weekend at Madison. Wednesday’s winner will play at 6 p.m. Saturday against No. 2 Sauk Valley or No. 7 Triton. The Sandburg men’s basketball team opens its 19th season under coach Ryan Twaddle this weekend. The Chargers will host Culver-Stockton JV at 1 p.m. Sunday in the back end of a men’s/women’s doubleheader against the Wildcats.
