Sierra Joins WIU Student Success Team

Western Illinois University is excited to announce Steven Sierra as the new Associate Director of Student Success at the WIU Quad Cities campus.

Sierra is a 2022 and 2023 graduate of WIU, earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Science, Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration. He has experience throughout the Quad Cities working with the City of Davenport Parks and Recreation Department, City of Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department and has been working as a teacher within the Rock Island County Regional Office of Education.

“Steven’s pride for WIU and the Quad Cities Area is complemented by a focused drive for helping our students succeed in their academic endeavors,” Vice President for Student Success Justin Schuch said. “We are lucky to have Steven join the team. Our students will benefit from his leadership and support.”

In this role, Sierra will be responsible for serving as a one-stop resource for students on engagement efforts, organizations, events, financial aid and other services offered and will be based primarily on the Quad Cities campus.
