Sandburg softball freshman Pyle voted to All-Region 4 3rd team

Sandburg softball freshman Hannah Pyle, who led the Chargers in numerous offensive categories this spring, was voted to the All-Region 4 Division II third team by the region’s coaches.

The honor for Pyle, a corner infielder from Economy, Ind., comes on the heels of her also being voted to the All-Arrowhead Conference team.

Pyle played in all 52 games this season for the Chargers. Over 162 plate appearances, she led the squad with a .406 batting average, .463 on-base percentage, .650 slugging percentage, seven home runs, 35 RBIs, 93 total bases and 19 extra-base hits.

Pyle’s 58 hits were second among Chargers players, and she was third on the team with 30 runs scored. The first-year player was also a perfect 6 for 6 in steal attempts.

Among Pyle’s highlights this season, she reached base safely in all nine of her plate appearances in Sandburg's April 3 doubleheader sweep at Sauk Valley. She finished the day 7 for 7, drew two walks, doubled, homered, scored five runs and had four RBIs on the day.
