Sandburg men head up to face Madison for Region 4 quarterfinals

The Sandburg men’s basketball team will travel to face Madison on Thursday to open the postseason.

The Chargers (18-12) earned the No. 11 seed in the Region 4 Division II District B tournament and will face the sixth-seeded WolfPack (18-9) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Madison. The contest will be streamed at madisoncollege.tv (subscription required).

The teams met twice in the regular season, with Madison coming away victorious both times. The WolfPack won 84-72 on Nov. 16 in Galesburg and 101-95 in overtime at Madison on Feb. 1 despite a career-high 34 points from Chargers sophomore guard Logan Sluder.

The winner of Thursday's contest advances to the semifinals at 6 p.m. Sunday at Rock Valley against the winner of No. 3 South Suburban and No. 14 Prairie State.

The tournament championship is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 8, also at Rock Valley.
