Knox Women Win Again

BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team picked up another conference victory at Beloit on Saturday. Knox won 73-52 to move to 11-10 overall and 9-5 in conference play.

The Buccaneers started the game off with a 4-0 lead, but the Prairie Fire responded by taking a 20-9 lead into the second quarter.

After an early second period basket by Beloit, Knox maintained their double digit lead for the rest of the half and went into halftime with a 38-24 lead.

The Prairie Fire expanded their lead in the third quarter and cruised to victory with the Buccaneers outscoring them 20-15 in the fourth quarter.

Catessa Duran led Knox with 18 points and nine rebounds. Sarina Dacio added nine points on 2-of-3 shooting from long-range.

"It was great to bounce back after a pair of losses," said head coach Kira Mowen. "We executed our game plan all day and now we will look to close out the season on a strong note."

The Prairie Fire return to action on February 15 as they travel to Illinois College.
