Knox's Tyrell Pierce is Headed to NCAA Track and Field Championships

The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee announced on May 19 the participants in the 2023 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Tyrell Pierce has earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Rochester, New York from May 25-27. The top 22 declared student-athletes in each of the men's individual events were accepted into the competition.


Pierce qualified for his third straight NCAA Championships, previously competing in the Outdoor event last year and the Indoor event earlier this year. He will be competing in both the 200m and 400m. Pierce is currently ranked second in Division III in the 400m (46.48) and 11th in the 200m (21.16). He holds the Knox records in both events and was recently named Outstanding Track Performer at the Midwest Conference Track and Field Championships as he won both the 200m and 400m. Pierce broke the MWC record in the 400m.




The championships will be held May 25-27 at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York.
