Knox Men's Golf Wins Fighting Scot Invite

MONMOUTH, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's golf team took first place at the Fighting Scot Invite over the weekend.

Knox went into Sunday with a six stroke lead after shooting a first round 311. The Prairie Fire used a 290 second round to win the tournament by a decisive 21 strokes.


PranavNandakumar took home medalist honors with a two round score of 145. Jake Schabes and Eddie Brees (149) tied for third place. Gabe Newman also placed seventh with 151 total strokes.


"This was a great victory in a tough weekend," said head coach Brady Kreiter. "The weather didn't cooperate yesterday, but we came out today determined to maintain our lead and we had a great round to win pretty easily."


Knox will return to action on September 22 as they travel to the Midwest Region Classic.
