Knox Men's Basketball Defeated Beloit

BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team defeated Beloit 73-68 on Saturday afternoon.


Isaiah Lockett put Knox on the board first with a jumper early in the first half. Midway through the first half, the Prairie Fire built up a 16-9 lead. The Buccaneers stormed back to take a 32-23 lead. Beloit maintained a 32-27 lead heading into halftime.


Beloit took a 10 point lead early in the second half, but Knox clawed back to tie the game at 49-49 with 10:56 to play. The next few minutes were back and forth with Knox taking the lead for good with 5:45 left.


Jordan Rayner paced the Prairie Fire with 21 points. Lockett added 13 points and Duane Goodman, Jr. picked up a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.


"This is a good road win for us," said head coach Ben Davis. "After a close loss at home a few weeks ago, it was nice to return the favor today."


Knox returns to action on February 15 as they travel to Illinois College.
