Knox Men's Basketball Blows Out Lawrence

The Prairie Fire men's basketball team rolled past Lawrence 89-65 for their fourth victory in their last six games.

The Vikings took an early 12-8 lead, but Knox used a 34-2 run to take a huge 42-14 lead. The Prairie Fire earned a 48-22 lead by halftime.

Lawrence outscored Knox 43-41 in the second half, but the Prairie Fire never let the game get closer than 17 points.

Cade Windham and Jordan Rayner led Knox with 22 points apiece. Matt Garife added 15 points and Sean Gallery chipped in 12 points. Isaiah Lockett poured in 11 points. Russell Wright grabbed 11 rebounds.

"In the last few weeks we've played really well in spurts, but haven't been able to put it together for 40 minutes like we did tonight," said head coach Ben Davis. "We did a lot of things really well tonight, but the way we rebounded the ball is what I am most proud of. We obviously had a tough first half of the season and I am really proud of our guys for continuing to stay together and stay bought in."

The Prairie Fire return to action on February 4 as they travel to Cornell.
