U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commision

On August 5, 2021 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled 2 million dehumidifiers with well-known name brands that can overheat and catch fire. City of Galesburg

The City of Galesburg announced August 10 that Steve Gugliotta was selected to fill the position of Director of Community Development.

Abingdon - Avon School Board

The Abingdon - Avon School Board has defied the mask mandate by the State of Illinois. Superintendent Mike Currie stated the School Board decided to make masks optional.

Warren County

Tina Conrad is retiring after working for Warren County for six decades (two as the Warren County Clerk). Deputy Clerk Randi Reynolds plans to run to replace Conrad.

VNA Community Services

After Knox County became a high transmission rate area for COVID-19, VNA Community Services closed its building to public traffic and suspended congregate meals. VNA Community Services will continue to offer to-go meals, outdoor events, and virtual events.

Galesburg Civic Art Center

The Galesburg Art Center with the support of the City of Galesburg and BNSF has applied for a $25,000 grant from the Asphalt Art Initiative to fund a mural on the west side walls of the South Street underpass.
