3 Sandburg Volleyball Sophomores Named to All-Region Team

GALESBURG — Carl Sandburg College sophomores Carley Reeves-Eakins (Branson, Mo./Reeds Spring), Gracie Rademacker (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) and Carmyn Baldwin (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) were voted to the All-Region IV Division II District A team after helping the Chargers to a 25-win season.


A 6-foot outside hitter, Reeves-Eakins earned all-region honors for the second consecutive season after leading Sandburg in kills (434) and kills per set (3.10). She was second to Rademacker among Chargers in total blocks with 51, and her 35 solo blocks on the season tied her for 30th nationally.

Reeves-Eakins put down a career-high 23 kills and added 11 digs and four aces in the Chargers’ Aug. 21 win over St. Clair County. She had double-digit kills in 25 of her 41 matches and reached double figures in kills and digs on seven occasions.

Rademacker, a 5-9 right side, was an all-around force for the Chargers, collecting 12 double-doubles on the season and leading the team in total blocks with 59. She finished second among Chargers in kills (335), kills per set (2.38), digs (476), digs per set (3.38) and aces (40) while in appearing in 141 sets over 41 matches.

Rademacker’s finest performance came Oct. 23 against Lake Land as she had career-highs in kills and digs with 23 and 25, respectively. She also recorded a .477 hitting percentage in that five-set Chargers victory.

Baldwin, a 5-6 setter, was one of the leading distributors in the country while playing in all 41 matches and in 141 of the Chargers’ 148 sets this season. She was first in the district and fifth in NJCAA Division II with 1,318 assists, and her 9.35 assists per set were good for 13th nationally.

Baldwin also led the Chargers with 49 service aces while contributing 85 kills and 390 digs. She set a career-high with 67 assists in Sandburg’s five-set victory Sept. 24 against Central (Neb.).
