Coach: Ray VanHootegem

2020 Results: The Silver Streaks finished their season up on a high note by finishing second in

the Western Big 6 Conference Meet. There were no Regionals, Sectionals or state competition

last season. “The turning point for last year was when Kylie Tapper was out for the season,” said

VanHootegem. “Everyone else stepped up their game. They all came together and rallied.”

Roster

Margaret Bent Fr

Dulce Felix-Lopez Jr

Emma Haynes Jr

Abigail Malcom Fr

Eliza Martin Sr

Olivia Owen So

Molly Pettit Sr

Chloe Putnam Fr

Jadyn Riden Fr

Alli Robinson Fr

Tori Robinson Sr

Kylie Tapper Jr

Alathea Warren So

Outlook: This will be a very young and inexperienced team. Of the 15 players on the roster,

over half are sophomores and freshmen. “We have five swimmers with really no experience at

all,” said Coach VanHootegem. “We’ll see how it unfolds.” The Streaks will rebuild around their

veteran corps of swimmers--- Tapper, Robinson, Martin, Pettit and Felix-Lopez. Hindering their

preseason has also been in the inability to practice at Mustain Pool due to construction at the

high school and an issue with the pool itself. The Streaks have been practicing at Knox College

and other venues to prep for the season..

Numbers: Low by Silver Streak standards. “My magic number is 24 and right now we’re at 15.”

Co-Captains: The three Streak captains will be seniors--- Robinson, Pettit and Martin.

Schedule: The first Meet of the season was at Dunlap last Tuesday followed by one at Macomb

on Saturday. There are only four home Meets at Doug Mustain Pool scheduled for this season,

the first one being on October 5 against Metamora.
