WIU Homecoming 2023 ''Rocky's Got Game: Let's Win Together."

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University will celebrate Homecoming 2023 Friday-Saturday, Oct. 13-14 on the Macomb campus. This year’s theme is "Rocky’s Got Game: Let’s Win Together.”


The annual Paint the Paws will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 and include the painting of more than 200 paws along University Drive and Western Avenue to welcome alumni back to Macomb. Check-in will be located in front of Western Hall and starts at 1:15 p.m. For those interested in participating, fill out the online form at bit.ly/3sYhK6f.


Additional events leading up to Homecoming 2023 include Paint the Town, Saturday, Oct. 7; Rocky’s Boat Regatta, Sunday, Oct. 8; Clean the Campus, Monday, Oct. 9; WIU’s Got Talent, Tuesday, Oct. 10; Rocky Races, Wednesday, Oct. 11; and “Yell Like Hell,” Thursday, Oct. 12.


Other scheduled Homecoming events include:


• Friday, Oct. 13


- Reunion registration begins at the Alumni House and continues throughout the weekend.

- 5-9 p.m., All-Alumni Social, Alumni House – complimentary food, beer, wine and soda will be available, as will a cash only bar.

• Saturday, Oct. 14

- 7-7:45 a.m., Old Stompin' Ground Runaround Registration, Alumni House

- 8 a.m., Old Stompin' Ground Runaround: 5K Run/1.5 mile walk

- 8:30 a.m., 2023 Reunion Recognition Brunch & Social, Alumni House – honoring the classes of 1973, 1983 and 1998.

- 9:30 a.m., All-Alumni Breakfast, Alumni House (complimentary coffee and donuts)

- 10:30 a.m., Homecoming Parade - Watch from the Alumni House and Gwendolyn Brooks Memorial Park next door

- Noon-3 p.m., Alumni Cookout at "The Right Place" tent - in Q-Lot (Menu: Hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, potato chips, bottled water, canned soda, coffee and cash only bar.)

- 3 p.m., Leathernecks Football Game vs. Missouri State University, Hanson Field
