Galesburg, IL The Galesburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 662 E. Berrien Street on Monday morning, October 25th, at 1:50 am. The response included all three stations and the 11 personnel on duty. Upon arrival, heavy flames and smoke were showing from the East and South sides of the single-story home. Battalion Chief Derek Perry established command and the Brooks Street Station crew made entry into the home with an attack line and quickly got the fire under control, stopping further damage to the property. The preliminary damage estimates are approximately $25,000.00. There were no injuries reported. The fire is still under investigation by Galesburg Fire Department Investigators.
