Sorensen Statement on House Agriculture Committee Farm Bill Vote

Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) released a statement following his vote on the Farm Bill in the House Agriculture Committee.

“Since the very beginning of my tenure in Congress, I have made listening to constituents and advocating for them my top priority,” said Sorensen. “I regularly meet with my neighbors in rural communities and family farmers to hear directly from them about what they need from Washington to feel supported. While this bill is not perfect, it does expand crop insurance and gives our farmers and their families the resources they need to thrive. As this bill continues to make its way through the House, it is my hope that we can work together in a bipartisan way to address the bill’s shortcomings, including addressing any cuts to SNAP and climate smart agriculture. We must focus on delivering a bipartisan Farm Bill that makes all of our communities more sustainable.”
