Scots Honor Seniors Before Home Track & Field Meet

The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Fighting Scots Invitational on Saturday. The meet included MWC foes Cornell, Grinnell, Illinois College and Knox along with Blackburn, Principia and Sauk Valley.

The Scots won eight individual events and had more than 20 PR's on the day.

MEN

Colton Hutson (Mount Pleasant, Iowa) won the javelin with a new PR of 51,52m. Luke Reavis (Buena Vista, Colorado) took fourth with a PR of 44.58.

Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) won the hammer throw with a throw of 51.86m. He also won the discus at 43.29m with Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) in fourth at 39.98m Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) won the shot put at 14.37m while Anderson took fourth at 13.79m.

Matthew Bright (Macomb, Illinois) won the pole vault at 3.70m with Lane Grice (East Galesburg, Illinois) in third with a PR of 3.25m.

Janius Taylor (Lakeland, Florida) was second in the 100m race in 10.90 seconds. He also took third in the 200m race with a PR of 21.52 seconds.

Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) took second in the 400m race with a PR of 49.83 seconds while Adrian Outlaw (Galesburg, Illinois) was fourth in a season-best 50.52,

Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) took third in the 1500m with a time of 4:02.24. He was second among Division III competitors in the event.

Patrick Curry (Chicago, Illinois) was third in the high jump with a season-best 1.82m while Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) was fourth at 1.77m

Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois) was fourth in the long jump with a PR of 6.51m.The Scots men didn't run either of the relays on Saturday.

WOMEN

Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) won the shot put with a season-best throw of 13.49m. That throw ties her PR from last year as the eighth-best throw in Monmouth history. Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) was second at 12.72m and Alayna Earle (Clinton, Illinois) took fourth with an outdoor PR of 11.92m.

Boley also won the discus with a throw of 45.85m while Braun took second at 39.10m.

Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) won the hammer at 52.24m with Boley in second at 51.80m. Braun had a PR of 44.13m to finish third and Earle took fourth at 43.17m.

Makaiha Moore-Bell (Knoxville, Illinois) won the 100m race with a new PR of 12.49 seconds. Maddie Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) was third in 12.57 seconds. Rusk took second in the long jump with an outdoor PR of 5.34m.

Miranda Hursey (Hanna City, Illinois) took second in the pole vault at 3,30m with Delaney Rexroat (Monmouth, Illinois) in third at 3.00m.

Natalie Gonzalez (Galesburg, Illinois) took second in the 400m hurdles in 1:12.01 She was also fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.02 seconds.

Lauren Anderson (Cambridge, Illinois) was third in the high jump with a season=best 1.45m.

The 4x100m relay team of Rusk, Gonzalez, Rexroat and Moore-Bell finished second with a season-best time of 50.08 seconds.

NEXT UP:

The Scots head to the Midwest Conference Championships next weekend. The two-day event will be hosted by Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and starts Friday at 12:30 p.m.
