Sandburg Shortstop Wolfe Voted to All-Region Team

GALESBURG — Carl Sandburg College shortstop Emma Wolfe (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) was voted by coaches to the All-Region IV Division II District B Team after leading the Chargers in nearly every offensive category during her sophomore season.

Wolfe played in all 44 of Sandburg’s games this spring and paced the Chargers with a .401 batting average, .426 on-base percentage and .796 slugging percentage for a team-best 1.222 OPS over a team-high 162 plate appearances.

Wolfe also led Sandburg this season in hits (61), doubles (15), triples (nine), home runs (nine), runs (54), extra-base hits (33) and total bases (121).

Her 37 RBIs were second among Chargers, and she was third on the squad with eight walks and five steals (in six attempts).

Wolfe homered in three straight games from April 16-19 that covered both ends of a doubleheader at Black Hawk and Game 1 of a twinbill against the Braves. During that stretch, Wolfe went 7 for 11 with three homers, two doubles, six runs scored and 10 RBIs.
