Knox Release Outdoor Spectator Policy for Spring 2021

Updated: Jun 22, 2021

Galesburg, Illinois — Beginning March 28, a limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend Knox College athletic outdoor contests for the sports of: baseball, football, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, and track and field. The capacity at each event will be limited and designated seating areas are assigned for the Knox community (students, faculty and staff) and Prairie Fire student-athletes’ family members. No members of the general public will be admitted to athletics events at this time and no visiting team spectators are allowed. Our spectator policies are contingent upon COVID-19 guidance and information provided by state and county public health officials. Knox College is committed to ensuring a healthy campus, and will make any adjustments necessary to our spectator policies to protect the well-being of our community. Knox College community members will be required to show a Knox student or faculty/staff ID at the event site. Players and coaches will be allowed an assigned number of guests at each event and that will be managed by each head coach in advance of each contest. Spectators will be required to follow guidelines while at the site of competition, including but not limited to: wearing a mask at all times, staying within designated spectator areas, complying with all posted rules and regulations and/or requests from College game-day staff. No tailgating will be allowed. Also no interacting with student-athletes or coaches on-site before, during, or after the competition will be allowed. Spectators are required to vacate the competition site immediately following the completion of the competition. These policies are related to Knox College only. When Knox College is traveling, the host institutions will have their own policies. Members of the media should contact sports information director James Clark to secure a credential to attend contests on the Knox College campus. The majority of Prairie Fire competition on the Knox campus will be live streamed to give our fans, families, and friends an opportunity to remain engaged and see our student-athletes in action. All competitions that are planned for live streaming are already designated as such on the schedules on the Prairie Fire website. Check for the streaming icon to know which events are going to be live streamed in advance. All live stream availability is subject to change based on staffing availability and other variables. For more details on spectator seating areas and expectations at Knox College sports events, please visit our FAN ZONE. Check back frequently as changes may occur at the NCAA, MWC, federal, state, and local levels. The College suggests you check for updates on game-day.
