Knox Men's Golf Places First at Fighting Scot Invite

MONMOUTH, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's golf team competed at the Monmouth Fighting Scot Invite on Sunday.

Knox placed first (294) and third (312) in the six team tournament.

Patrick Mattar placed second overall with 71 strokes. Eddie Brees (73), Brendan Wise (75), Harry Phillips (75), George Gilligan (75), and Jack Wilkie (75) also placed in the top-10.

"It's great to get back-to-back tournament wins and have the second team bring home 3rd place hardware," said head coach KC Harding. "The best is to see there be so many solid scores. I am very proud of this team and am excited to see how this season plays out. I am hopeful we can keep this momentum going this Friday and Saturday as we will face a very difficult field when we head to the Augustana Invitational."
