Knox Men Fall to Cornell

GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men’s basketball team lost their game this Saturday against Cornell 75-48. The Rams are a very good team and improved their conference record to 7-1, while Knox’s record now sits at 2-8.

The first half started off as a back and forth, but towards the end Cornell pulled away ending the half with a 41-28 lead. Points in the paint were a big focus for the Rams as they seemed to be very happy with driving the paint and dishing it out to the three point line if they had to. The Fire just had a hard time settling in offensively with the constant pressure that Cornell’s defense had on them.

The second half was more of the same as Jordan Magnani for the Rams was on fire, he shot 10-for-14 putting up 27 points and also adding 4 assists. The Fire were not able to come back after the bad first half.

Leading the Fire in scoring was Duane Goodman, Jr with 9 points. Sean Gallery, Giannis Tsahageas, and Raphael Jalnaiz also added 6 apiece.

The Fire head to Cornell on Monday to get revenge for the loss that they took, and are hoping to get a better result when that time comes.
