Knox County, IL- The Knox County Unified Command is announcing 104 new cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), between Monday, November 8, 2021, and Sunday, November 14, 2021. According to IDPH the total positive cases in Knox County is 7,718. Due to federal privacy restriction, release of any additional information is prohibited.
COVID-19 vaccines are widely available, registration links can be found at www.knoxcountyhealth.org. Unified Command Vaccine Center Clinics planned are as follows: · Thursday, November 18th at the Unified Command Vaccine Center 8:30am-10:30am Moderna, Pfizer & Janssen (12 years of age and up) · Thursday, November 18th Walk-in Booster Clinic at the Unified Command Vaccine Center 12:30pm-4:30pm Moderna, Pfizer & Janssen According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, Knox County has administered 57,564 COVID-19 vaccines and 26,116 (52.12) county residents have been fully vaccinated. Knox County has also administered 4,974 COVID-19 Booster Doses. Third dose vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are being administered to those who self-attest to being immune-compromised and those on immunosuppressant therapy at ALL Knox County Unified Vaccine Clinics and events. Third dose vaccines must be given at least 28 days after the second dose. The additional vaccine dose should be the same as the initial two-dose vaccine Moderna and Pfizer Booster vaccines are available to qualified individuals who received their primary series at least 6 months ago. people 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings.
people aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions
Additionally, CDC recommends the following groups may be considered for boosters.
people aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions and people aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting.
People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting a booster dose is appropriate for them. Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) Booster vaccines are available to persons aged 18 years and older, who received their vaccine 2 months ago, under the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization.
