GALESBURG, Ill. –The Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Dinner and Business Excellence Awards on Thursday, July 1, 2021 in the Enchanted Garden. This event will be hosted on the green space recently remodeled at Park Plaza in downtown Galesburg. The Chamber’s Annual Dinner is usually held in first quarter each year but COVID-19 required flexibility on the date.
“The last several months have been a trying time for many local area businesses. There is no better way to honor the incredible businesses and leaders in our region than with a celebration all about them! Local is the theme! Once our state entered the Bridge Phase a few weeks ago, we knew we had to push forward with planning this annual event in a new, fresh format. We knew an outside venue would offer the opportunity to be creative and really lean into highlighting the use of green space available for rent in the community,” explains Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce executive director, Pam Gaither.
Attendees can look forward to finding three local member eateries and bar stations onsite along with an all-local designed event from food, rentals, musician, and florals. The Chamber’s Annual Dinner begins at 5:30PM for cocktails with food beginning at 6:00PM. A special awards ceremony will be held at 7:00PM to designate the winners of Small Business Excellence Award, Woman in Business Award, and Chamber Advocate of the Year. New this year includes the naming of the Five Under 40 Recipients. This is a focus on individuals who have shown exemplary examples of community service under the age of forty. Nominations are now being accepted for these awards through Friday, June 18th. Nomination forms are available at www.galesburg.org.
“It should be a great way to kick off our series of events that are returning to our Chamber calendar. Many of our members have missed networking and this is just the beginning of what is to come this year! Watch for more on our Business After Hours schedule, Golf Outing, a local & state legislative luncheon, and the 43rd Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. We are in discussions of adding some new in-person marketing and business development sessions involving business growth and digital impact,” Gaither adds.
The Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Business Excellence Awards event tickets are still available for a limited time through Monday, June 21, 2021. Once capacity is reached, ticket sales will close. Reservations are required and suggested to be made ASAP by calling 309-343-1194.
