“Dignity Items in Times of Need Offer Hope” A Thrivent Action Team Service Project

The "Dignity Items in Times of Need Offer Hope" Thrivent Action Team service project helps provide disaster relief supplies. Some of the collected supplies will help replenish items sent to recent tornado stricken areas.

Thrivent invites the Knox County community to buy a dignity item to contribute to the disaster relief supplies of the Midwest Mission Distribution Center. Thrivent Action Team seed money of $250 for this project has purchased many dignity items, but non-profit Thrivent asks the public to grow their $250 with a donation of an item!

Please consider donating one or more of the following new items:

Shampoo (15-18 ounce size | tape bottle lid)

Bar of soap (3-4 ounce size)

Deodorant (2-3 ounce size | stick or roll-on)

Bath wash cloth (lightweight | no dish cloth)

Bath hand towel (lightweight | no kitchen towel)

Resealable plastic bag (boxed | 1 gallon size)

No hand-prints, foot-prints, paw-prints, or camouflage on any donated items.

The last date to donate items at Thrivent Action Team public drop-off boxes is December 29, 2021.

On January 7, 2022 (weather pending) the Thrivent Action Team will deliver items to Midwest Mission Distribution Center.

The gift of random quantities of dignity items will be assembled by volunteers into personal dignity kits at the Midwest Mission Distribution Center before a domestic or international shipment where the latter sent in 2020, 24,418 personal dignity kits as disaster relief supplies from In-Kind and financial donations.
