Boys Soccer: Monmouth-Roseville 4, DePue/Hall 0

Oscar Amador led the offense with a goal and an assist and Monmouth-Roseville’s defense posted its first clean sheet of the season in a 4-0 victory over DePue/Hall Tuesday night at Pattee Fields.

Amador helped the Titans get on the board five minutes into the game, setting up Cee Sarcomo down the right side for a 1-0 lead. The Titans also used a run down the right side for their second goal, with Daniel Cinzah sending in a blast with 5:15 to play in the first half.

M-R kept the pressure on in the second half and eventually broke through at the 16:17 mark with a goal by Amador from well outside the penalty box. Yahir Serna capped the scoring with a free kick goal with just under five minutes to play.

M-R held a 27-5 edge in shots and took all of the game’s four corners.

The victory improved the Titans’ record in Three Rivers Athletic Conference games to 3-2-1. They’ve played every team in the league and now await their opponent in the TRAC tournament, which begins Saturday at the host school, Mendota, which has clinched the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye.

In the JV game, DePue/Hall cashed in on the second penalty kick it was awarded with 1:09 remaining to tie M-R 1-1. Raul Carrillo had the Titans’ goal and ‘keeper Eduardo Serrano came up big in the first half with a save on DePue/Hall’s first PK attempt.
