After being limited to just one shot in the first 10 minutes, visiting Limestone scored on a free kick goal and never looked back in a 3-0 victory Thursday over Monmouth-Roseville at Pattee Fields.
From the far right side, Camden Yeske lofted a perfect direct kick just inside the far post and under the crossbar to beat M-R goalie Sailas Cung for a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. The Rockets controlled play for much of the rest of the first half and added another score just before halftime on a rebound goal by Joey Shields with 22.9 seconds remaining.
That capped a 15-1 edge in first-half shots for the Rockets, who netted the game’s final goal when Landon Henry scored on an open header with 17:14 to play. Overall, Limestone held a 30-5 advantage in shots.
Now 1-5-1 on the year, the Titans will travel to Quincy Notre Dame on Monday. Limestone improved to 5-1-1 with the victory.
In the JV game, Richard Herrera scored on an assist by Dabens Saint-Martin as Monmouth-Roseville held on for a 1-0 victory.
