Both Cross Country Teams Finish 7th at MWC Championships

The Monmouth College cross country teams both finished in seventh place in the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday. The event was hosted by Grinnell College at the Grinnell Golf Course.

The women finished in seventh place in the team score as four of the six runners set new season and collegiate career highs for the 6K.

Isabella Manley (Peoria, Illinois) led the women's team in 33rd place with a new PR of 25:51.57. Samantha Costello (Morris, Illinois) finished 43rd with a PR of 26:42.79. Lindsay Eaton (Danvers, Illinois) was in 56th place with a PR of 27:18,45 and Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) was in 64th place with a time of 28:91.35. Kristen Rebman (Macomb, Illinois) finished 88th with a time of 32:41.42 right ahead of Emma Heiser (Marseilles, Illinois) who set a PR in 89th place with a time of 33:30.03

The men also finished in seventh place in the team score.

William Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) finished in 27th place with a time of 27:36.09. Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) was 36th overall with a time of 28:06.24. Freshman Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) set a new PR with a time of 28:46.98 as he finished in 51st place. Neo Colter (Geneseo, Illinois) finished in 85th place in 32:05.16 and Braden Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) was 86th in 32:10.51. Nate Newlin (DeKalb, Illinois) set a new PR with a time of 41:06.91 in 98th place.

The Scots have next weekend off before running in the NCAA Regionals in Rock Island, Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 11.
