EVAN MILLER TO RUN FOR ALDERMAN IN GALESBURG'S 3RD WARD

Evan Miller announced on December 16 that he is running to be the next Alderman in Galesburg's third ward.

Miller says: "I'm running for office to bring more common sense and accountability to city government and I look forward to responding to all concerns from ward three residents."

Miller is a husband, father and grandfather. For the last 14 years Miller has been employed by Purlee Farms as a crew chief, equipment operator, mechanic and fabricator. He is the former Maintenance Supervisor for Des Moines County where he managed a million dollar budget and oversaw 10 buildings.

Miller is quoted as saying "I support law enforcement and believe we need to do more to reduce gun violence and drug crimes in Galesburg." He is a supporter of economic development efforts and more opportunities for youth activities in the third ward. Miller knows there is a need for road improvements, especially in ward three and will push for more grant funding of projects.

Miller is running to replace Kevan Wallace who was appointed by Mayor Peter Swartzman to fill the vacated seat held by Lindsey Hillary after her resignation.
